Blast from the Past #272: Leonardo with sword raised

Here's another pin-up, executed in ink with a real brush, from back in 1987. -- PL

  1. '87! What a great year. Among it it seems to be the year of Leo pinups! This is definitely the best of those I have seen. I can hear him shouting," YOur reign of terror is over Stockman!"

  2. Hello Mr. Laird,

My name is Dan Melick and I'm an aspiring filmmaker working out of Amherst (I graduated from UMass in '08). At the moment I'm working on producing a mockumentary web series about independent filmmakers trying to make a movie during the recession. I'm hoping to get in touch with you because I was wondering if you would be at all interested in participating in this project. The role I have in mind for you would have you playing yourself as the producer of the film that is being made within the web series (keep in mind however that I'm not actually asking you for any sort of funding).

The time commitment would be fairly minimal, requiring probably just one day (two days at the very most) of filming some time in the spring (at the moment it looks like production will start in early/mid-April). Due to the super-low-budget nature of this production I wouldn't really be able to compensate you for your time however I would be incredibly grateful. If you are at all interested and would like to hear more please contact me by e-mail at DanM519@msn.com or by phone at 617-595-3163.

    Thank you.

    -Dan

PS: I apologize if this is not the correct forum through which I should approach you about something like this, however, it seemed like to most direct way to contact you so I figured I'd give it a shot.

  5. Mr.Laird,
I've been a big fan since I was a child. I used to create turtle fan art all the time. I've been doodling on my site and recently I did a tribute to the turtles - for all the fun and memories. Please do check it out if you have the time! Thanks!
