"Bob"...?

Like many people, I have a "Google Alert" set up to inform me of any new postings on the Internet (at least those scanned by Google) which include my name. Sometimes they lead to interesting things, sometimes to ridiculous things, sometimes to things having to do with other people named Peter Laird.

The most recent "Google Alert" I received kind of falls into the second and third categories. It relates to a posting on thetechnodrome.com, which is probably the most active of all the TMNT-related fan sites. This posting -- found here:

… had to do with my supposed presence at a recent lunch with a fan's father and some of his co-workers.

Well, I guess SOMEONE named Peter Laird might have been at the lunch in question, but it definitely wasn't me. Perhaps the first clue to this fact may be that this fan's dad referred to me as "Bob"… which is not my name, nor is it a nickname that I have ever had. -- PL

  1. I always found it scary how you can google your own name and find like 10 other people in the world with the same name as you.

Its not like my last name is common either, so its really strange.

    1. How is that "scary"?

My first name is long and complicated but I'm not the only one who has it. It's not a big deal. There are billions of people on this planet. Do the math!

You know, be more realistic. It's okay.

  2. Ya'know, "Eastman and Bob's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

  3. Also, whenever I think of "rock band" and "Mirage Studios" in the same sentence, this picture always comes to mind:
